Hello Jeanie,

Is there any chance of still purchasing an XL polo shirt and an XL t-shirt from the NORCAL Club? (Yes, See Shirts and Stuff on the web site) I was at the Nationals last week (registration #16) and, somehow, through all the excitement, I lost my XL t-shirt and XL polo shirt.  I have absolutely no idea where I left them and lost and found at the hotel doesn't have them.  If either are still available, I'd gladly buy either (or both) and pay shipping to get them to me.  Super congrats on a wonderful National meet.  This is the second national meet I've attended but the first in which I entered a car.  From my perspective, every aspect of the meet was absolutely perfect.  I could not have asked for more!  Thank you and best regards, Randy Corrigan  Jeanie, You are listed as the point of contact for the Northern California Olds club in JWO.  I would like to pass along to you and your members my thanks for hosting a very enjoyable National meet.  It was a long boring drive for me – San Antonio, TX to Reno was 1725 miles of mostly nothing and the same on the way back home – but well worth the trip.  The California flare was very evident in the number of late 40’s – early 50’s cars, most of which seemed to have been modified.  Now personally I am into restoring 68 – 72 442’s, but I do loving looking at those earlier cars and hot rods.  I’d bet there were a lot of these high dollar restorers that came unglued with what was awarded Best of Show but personally I got a real kick out of it.  There was another candy apple red 50’ I also just loved as will as a 57’ – both of which had been tricked out in a really cool fashion.  Glad to see it wasn’t all about the purists.  Again, GREAT JOB and thanks for a wonderful time. I have been a member of the Olds. Club for 19 years. I have attended many National Shows and have worked on three myself. I think it is important to receive feed back.  Here is mine. I know of many people that drove more then 5 hours to see the cars. So many left early- there were not that many to see on Sat. afternoon. Something has to change to keep the cars there on display.  My biggest issue is the winner of the Best of Show. Both REO and Helen Earley are turning over in their graves.

The winner of this award did not represent the Olds Club. Could not even tell it was an Oldsmobile.  Chopped/Channeled Anyone with an imagination and a BIG check book can ruin a classic Olds.   It takes so much more to do a frame off restoration.  A very sad day when a car like that wins. It is also so stupid to give out so many best of class awards to NEW cars up to 2004.  There used to be a cut off year as to what makes a classic car.   Thanks for your hard work putting this show together- but I think changes need to be made next time.    JoAnne Miller

To all:

I'd agree what she says on the selection of the Best of Show car. But not our call. more like OCA head Judges... but as far as keeping people cars on Saturday, the same thing happened at 2009 Nats in Pennsylvainia when I was there.  Maybe folks had to get back to work???   But I think we put on one hell of a show... and thanks to all who worked it...   Jeff  (Stanish)
